20 Things We Need to Know to Make a Cake

This little booklet printed in 1899 is a wealth of information on the basic grains and their versatility.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, appetizers, sides and desserts among useful tips for managing a kitchen

makes for interesting reading. I especially enjoyed the no nonsense 20 things you need to know to make a cake.

Makes me feel quite …er..knowledgeable. It also has instructions on making a good cup of coffee (with an egg to capture the grounds)Image

and a bread that bakes for 4 hours!
